Student Learning Objectives

This course helps students understand and implement Cash Flow projections, and project Lifecycle Valuation in order to fully capitalize on the exploitation of their intellectual property. Additionally, this course will help students understand financing costs and learn ways to integrate best practices to reduce cost. Students will learn how to use financing metrics such as Return On Investment (ROI), Return on Equity (ROE), Breakeven Analysis and Internal Rate Of Return (IRR) to better understand how to measure probability.

Finally, students will learn the essential elements needed to professionally pitch their projects to the right audience, including potential partners, financiers or buyers. The core objective of this course is to help students increase their employment attractiveness, provide a resource guide to independent film financing with emphasis on diversity and provide a working knowledge of film finance analytical tools used for critical decision making.
